The Future of Education

Charting the Course of Teaching and Learning in a Networked World

I have attached a call for papers, Education and the New Normal, for the futures journal On the Horizon. In another thread the question of a tipping point for educational change was brought up. If one is aware of changes in education at the global and local levels there is a sense that we are in a transition which is different from how we have perceived changes over time previous. The question is whether there will be a "new normal" in the sense that we are moving from one "past" to a new "static" normal.

One point to think about is: What has been and what will be the "business" of education.

"The depth of your observations from last night is still resonating with me. I'm trying to think of another interview I've given where the questioner understood the material so well that he/she so regularly (and fluidly) went into new intellectual territory. I can't think of any. Pretty amazing. Thank you."
