With an unwavering commitment to its mission and an understanding of the needs in Haiti, University of the People (UoPeople) commits to provide 250 students with the opportunity to pursue higher education, tuition-free. They will work towards an Associate’s Degree in either Business Administration or Computer Science, studying online from Haiti with their peers around the world and developing the skills they need at home.

UoPeople also seeks to establish Student Computer Centers in Port-au-Prince so that students with the drive to learn, but without access to the necessary resources, do not miss the opportunity. Equipped with computers, satellite internet connection, furniture and support staff, these Centers will be open to all students for the duration of their programs.

Our partner, the Haitian Connection Network, has helped us place the first 16 of our 250 students. They will commence their studies at University of the People on November 18 at a Student Computer Center in Thomasin, Port-au-Prince.

To make this commitment a reality for 234 other students—and beyond—we need your help!

"The depth of your observations from last night is still resonating with me. I'm trying to think of another interview I've given where the questioner understood the material so well that he/she so regularly (and fluidly) went into new intellectual territory. I can't think of any. Pretty amazing. Thank you."
