Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

Often when we observe in classrooms we are watching the actions and interactions of the adults with students.  In a shadowing dynamic we are observing the entire school environment through the eyes of the student.  In this session we'll explore an administrative experiment and experience to see the practical, insightful and powerful information that can be gathered from the shadowing process.  We'll share some resources from others who have conducted such work, learn some practical tips for managing the information you'll gather and understand the power of the information that can be gathered through this process.

As an administrator I have begun my year at the beginning of this shadowing journey and it has already helped to shape my days, goals, interactions with staff, data collection and focus.  When you are looking through the eyes of students your mission and vision becomes clearer than ever.
