About Me
My teaching career started when we were stationed in Tokyo, Japan at Yokota Air Force Base (AFB). There was a great demand for English teachers and thus my entrance into the world of education began. While an English Teacher, I became more of a linguist and tutor, for private companies as well as within the Japanese K-12 Education system. What an experience!

With my new found love of teaching, I pursued my master's degree through Troy State University and so the adventure continued. My experience includes on-ground, Flexnet, blended and online modalities within Web CT, Blackboard, and OLS for both undergrad and graduate students. The disciplines taught include: Leadership, Management, Critical Thinking, History, Marketing, Ethics, Organizational Behavior, and Cultural Diversity.

I found myself back in school years later to complete my doctorate, a Doctorate of Management (DM) in Organizational Leadership. During this program, my first book began to crystallize--The Golden Palace Theory of Management, published June '08.

As a result, I found the model the publishing world used to be quite frankly ineffective and inefficient. Having spent a career of asking why and especially why not, I created a new publishing model that shares both the expense and promotion and a new company was born--The Lentz Leadership Institute, and The Refractive Thinker.

I found many others were looking for ways to gain entrance into the publishing world to share their dissertation and other scholarly works. Since form follows function, the idea of a doctoral anthology has taken root, giving birth to The Refractive Thinker, the series (Vol I. published March of 2009).

Now as both publisher and author, I have the honor to serve my colleagues in helping them to share their ideas with the world.

An excerpt from The Refractive Thinker®: Volume I: An Anthology of Higher Learning

The concept of failure: what is it? How do we define it? How are we defined by it? And most importantly, what do we do with it?

The idea of failure is a difficult concept for most, a nebulous intangible that is as different as the person destined to interpret it. Why one may ask? Fear mostly. The idea of failure is at the top of a list of… Continue

Reviews

"The depth of your observations from last night is still resonating with me. I'm trying to think of another interview I've given where the questioner understood the material so well that he/she so regularly (and fluidly) went into new intellectual territory. I can't think of any. Pretty amazing. Thank you."
