Welcome

About Me

I am a member of the Asia Society's Education team, serving as Associate Director for Professional Development and Curriculum. I was previously an educational consultant supporting the Asia Society’s International Studies Schools Network. For eleven years, I was on the faculty of The International School of the Americas as an English Language Arts teacher, Internship and Service Learning Coordinator, and Dean of Instruction for English and Social Studies. I have also taught pre-service teachers at Texas State University and Trinity University and served as a secondary literacy specialist for the North East Independent School District.

Always eager to learn more and to share that learning with others, I have become a National Board Certified Teacher, a Google Certified Teacher, a Discovery Education Network STAR, a Flat Classroom Certified Teacher, a National Writing Project fellow, and a reviewer for ReadWriteThink.org. I am passionate about continuing to grow as a professional, and sharing that journey with colleagues via online networks like this one!

Reviews

"The depth of your observations from last night is still resonating with me. I'm trying to think of another interview I've given where the questioner understood the material so well that he/she so regularly (and fluidly) went into new intellectual territory. I can't think of any. Pretty amazing. Thank you."
