In addition, any ideas that you do have about change, must be sold to the teaching staff. Don't be afraid to share the fact that your recommendations were accepted. Sell them to your colleagues.

First, you must include teachers in the process. Teachers will refuse any efforts that are dictated to them from the top. Because teachers have first hand day-to-day experience working with the kids in the classroom, they "ARE," in fact, the experts…

Hi Jane,
I thought i would fill you in with a bit of my history. I turned 60 in December. I have been married for 30 years. My wife and I have 4 kids. I started teaching when I was 33 years old, and taught young adults for 17 years. In 2001 I received a Masters Degree in Distance Education and in 2002 I started an online tutoring company.

Over the past 8 years I have spent a lot of time learning how kids learn. I have written a couple of books and more importantly have arrived at some startling conclusions that are aligned with some of the major thinkers in education today.

I had replied to your comment earlier so thought I would add this and hope to continue the conversation when we both have time.

I am looking forward to being part of this community. Education has been my life and the changes that are happening now are the most exciting of my career! It is going to be great to have a place to talk about it!
