Hi Richard,

I've led a volunteer-based tutor/mentor program since 1993 and now use that knowledge to help similar programs grow in all poverty areas of Chicago and other big cities. I'm in Chicago and have been working with students from Northwestern, Michigan, IIT and other schools to create a volunteer-based infrastructure and network of programs that would help inner city kids stay safe in non-school hours, while connecting with adults and learning that not only helps them through school, but into jobs and careers. I hope you'll join our ning group and review the T/MC web site for ideas that you and other students from Stanford might become involved with to help kids in all big cities be more successful in school.

Is the Bases e-Challenge the driver for your queries? If so, can we follow your work in some way?
