Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

My career in a private special education school has brought me a diverse population of students, each with their own unique backgrounds and experiences.  Their challenges and  learning styles vary, but they all share a desire to belong and succeed.   I have used Science as  a tool to find ways for these students to recognize the potential in both themselves and in each other.  Classroom collaboration allows students to develop confidence and hopefully leads to empathy.  This session will explore strategies, projects, anecdotes, and technology that can encourage students to become open to a collaborative learning experience.
