Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

In recent years developments in technology have started to affect almost every part of our daily lives, and in education they have started to profoundly affect teaching and learning. It is now widely accepted that e-learning can be integrated into face-to-face classroom instruction in order to add variety to teaching and improve student motivation: this is what is called blended learning. Blended learning is learning that is facilitated by the effective combination of different modes of delivery, models of teaching and styles of learning and applying them in an interactively meaningful learning environment. Although blended learning is being used to promote student learning, there is limited evidence showing whether the tasks used in learning are useful. This presentation presents a study conducted on the role of some online tools to improve student learning in speaking. In this talk, I will firstly introduce some online tools I used and present how I used them in my class to help my learners practise speaking.  In the second part, I will briefly discuss the findings of the study by sharing the data collated from the students on the extent to which they found the activities to be motivating and useful. In the third part, I will outline the main implications of the study and suggest ways of integrating these tools into regular classroom instruction.

Oh wow, this is really a topic of my interest. Speaking skills is something I try to encourage my students to do more and I am always wondering to find many different ways of doing it. It would be really nice to see what yu have to say abbout it. To know a language, you need to use it and speak it, no matter how many mistakes you do, right? I try to enourage my students to speak as much as possible in class. Some are shy, but I must tell you we are getting there.

Thanks a lot Marijana :) It would be great to see you in my session ...
