In this session we are going to explore how becoming part of a mentoring relationship can become an essential tool in analysing and developing your professional life.

Although many organisations appoint mentors to help initiate new staff, I have come to believe that there is much more a mentor can offer than to point out the stationery cupboard to someone just starting to work at an organisation.

I have also become convinced that mentoring can be one of the most effective tools for professional growth at any stage of a teacher’s career. Developing mentoring relationships is one of the key tools to help teachers innovate, experiment, learn and explore.

In this session we are going to look at key strategies to build, maintain and develop mentoring relationships for them to become an essential part of your professional life.

If you have been a mentor or a mentee, or have experiences with self-directed and/or institutional mentoring programmes, this session will give you an opportunity to share and discuss them. Also, if you would like to find a mentee or a mentor this session will help you connect with them.
