Language in Which You Will Present: English

Target Audience(s):   EFL teachers and potential EFL in Higher Ed hesitating to take the plunge into "science"
Short Session Description (one line):
Adapting our teaching: from budding scientists in their second year through to doctoral students.

Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
EAP is generally defined as the English needed "study or work in English medium higher education". Our French students - who study and work in their native language - do not seem to fit the mold.
From the whys an wherefores of our highly structured second year programme (which words/structures do our students need to know !)  through to the priviledged position of learning all the time from one's students, and why ELF and Dogme are just new names for our longstanding practice. We will see how, even in this rigourous French Higher Education context, the advent of social computing, well Web 2.0 at least, is opening the playing field.
