You and your companions have just survived a crash in a small plane. Both the pilot and co-pilot were killed in the crash. It is mid-January, and you are in Northern Canada. The daily temperature is 25 below zero, and the night time temperature is 40 below zero. There is snow on the ground, and the countryside is wooded with several creeks, criss-crossing the area. The nearest town is 20 miles away. You are all dressed in city clothes appropriate for a business meeting. Your group of survivors managed to salvage the following items:

A ball of steel wool
A small ax
A loaded .45-caliber pistol
Can of CrIsco shortening
Newspapers (one per person)
Cigarette lighter (without fluid)
Extra shirt and pants for each survivor
20 x 20 ft. piece of heavy-duty canvas
A sectional air map made of plastic
A compass
Family-size chocolate bars (one per person)

Rank the item in order of importants and include why you choose each item.

first we would try to make a shelter out of the plane parts.
Then we get the gun and take a bullet out and break it open for gun powder. we get the ax and cut some chips of wood from a tree. we put the wood under the news paper and put the gun powder on top. we would use the liter to spark the gun powder making a fire.
we would take the can of crisco and fill it with snow and put it over the fire so it would melt into water.
one of us will go hunting with the pistol.

Dear Mr.Q,
1)A ball of steel wool could be used for warmth and a trap when it comes to animals.
2) A small ax could be used for to cut wood or anumals.
3)A loaded .45 caliber pistol could be used for either to kill animals or to use it for safety.
4)A can of crisco shortning used for as oil for either fire.
5)The newspaper could be used for fire.
6)A cigarette lighter could be broken in half and there may just be a little fluid left that could be used for fire.
7)Extra pants and extra shirts could be used for more confertable clothers to be in and they could be dry and clean.
8)20x20ft, piece of heavy duty canvas could be used to gor shilder.
9)A sectonal air map made of plastic could be used to show us where to go and if it dont work then you could put in into the fire and burn it to last longer.
10)A compass coulod be used for to show you what directions to go and what place you maybe at.
11)Family sized chocolate bars could be used for food and maybe a little to make you hyper.....

We would use the extra clothes by putting them on, the newspaper would be put in our clothes to keep body heat. tHE 45-Caliber pistol for protection or to use on Angela Williams :). The compass and map we would use, the chocolate bars we would save until we were really hungry and the canvas we would NOT use to pull Angela W. on, but use to wrap around us as we walked to the next town. The can of Crisco we don't know what we would use for and the steel wool would be used to help keep the canvas on. The small ax could be used to cut branches down for a fire if we had to have one. Maybe we could find a few sticks to rub together to make fire(doubt it though). When we would be donewe would 'nerd walk' to the nearest town.

me(skip) and richie would first wear the extra set of clothes and pants over our other clothes and take the clothing off the pilot or pilots to make hats/gloves. we would remove the gas tank and use the fusiloge as a shelter. we would use the small axe to chop wood and the pistol to take down a buck. we would drag the deer back 2 camp on the hevvy duty canvas and start a fire by using he spark from the lighter to ignite the gasoline soaked newspaper . we would feed the fire and cook our share of meat. we would eat a small piece of our chocolate bar as a treat. we would bring large stones into the shelter which we would heat with the fire that would contiinue giving us heat through the night. as a bed we would dismantle the seats of the plane and use the padding to make SEPERATE beds. we would continue this livestyle until someone rescued us or we parished from the elmentas.

Tighes going to carry the pistal, Jordan is going to carry the ax,and Ian carrys steel wool and the canvas. first Jordan would go get wood then Ian would start a fire with the steet wool and the lighter, then tighe would go hunting with the .45 caliber. Jordan splits a peice of wood for cooking. He carved out the center of both longs dug a hole, Tighe came with the food and put it in the hollow log then put the ashes over the log to act as an oven.

1.We would put a pistol for number one to shoot food.
2.A small ax to chop things down or apart.
3.A compass so we can find our way around.
4. Extra shirt and pants to have an extra layer to stay warm.
5. Chocolate bars to hold us until we get some meat!!!!!!
6.Canvas to make a blanket or to block the wind.
7.Newspapers so we could maybe start a fire.
