We are having a wonderful time here in La Paz at an elevation of about 3360 m. The kids love the food, family, church and friends.
We are staying in Sopocachi around the block from the church building. Here Robby and Bryan are practicing piano in the second floor where they can choose from 6 pianos. If they need a break they can play ping pong or watch the world cup in a giant tv in the next rooms.
This past week Robby and Bryan have participated in a ping pong competition sponsored by the Young Men and Young Women organization of the church. Robby won in his section and will be getting an award tomorrow morning.
We have talked to cousins who attend different private schools. There are so many great schools in this city. One of them attends El Colegio Aleman, where all the classes are in german except of course the Spanish class where they do literature, grammar, vocabulary, etc in Spanish. They also study English. Needless to say he is bilingual and has a basic knowledge of English. The school requires the students to spend one year in Germany as an exchange student.Their music program is also great!!! We watched a video of his last concert. He plays the trombone in a Big Band. He is currently enrolled at the UMSA a university where he is preparing himself to compete in Math Olympics.
It is the Winter vacation for all schools right now!!!
