University Graduation means that you have successfully finished the course you were doing. This event is celebrated in only a single day so it needs to count. A good number of graduates make mistakes on this day and end up regretting. The spot light is on you, so you have to shine before the light moves on. Here is what you need to know before that day arrives.Confidence
Build up your confidence. You may have been shy and timid before but you need to dump that personality. Your friends and family will be there to celebrate with you so you have to act like an educated person. This is the time to unleash your A game. You have a reason to be confident because not a lot of people qualify for higher education.
Under the robe
You need to plan on what you are going to wear under the bulk robe. Although it will be covered up, you may not have time to change when you go for the family dinner. If you suspect that the weather will be hot, wear something sleek but smart. You will need to be comfortable as you sit down and listen to that long graduation speech.
The graduation gown needs to fit you perfectly. You don’t want to wear a gown that is too big or too small for you. Ensure that you attend the classes that teach you how to perfectly put on the gown. You don’t want to be the one that stands out from the crowd. It is also important that you get the right fit for the graduate cap. Use a measuring tape to determine size of your head before getting one. If you are wearing a doctorate gown, you can decide to look for a cheap doctoral tam or simply rent one. It would really be awkward to wear a graduate cap that keeps falling off or makes your head uncomfortable.
Going for the graduation rehearsal is mandatory. If by any chance you don’t attend this event, you will really be confused on the graduation day. You also need to do a rehearsal of your own. You can even buy your own mortarboard or a cheap doctoral tam and take it for a test drive. It pays to have your own Regalia before and after graduation.
This day can only be re-lived if you get your hands on top quality photos and videos. Hire a photographer if you have to. It might cost a little more but it will be totally worth it. Take lots of pictures with your fellow graduates. A common regret among graduates is that they did not take enough photos to commemorate that day.
Remember that you may never get to see most of your classmates again. Also take into consideration that you want most of these photos to be shown even to your grand kids.
Above all this, have fun! Enjoy the day because there are not many of its kind. Make sure that you get enough rest before the day arrives.
